The Murder Housewives is a series of photo composites portraying a lineup of five women who have a chilling story to tell. Gretchen Fitzgerald, Eleanor Barnett, Eden Bradshaw, Maeve Cowley, and Margot MayBerry are housewives from an imaginary small town in upstate New York. They make up the town’s close-knit mom group, occasionally gathering for wine nights or playdates with each other’s children. On the outside, they are all seen as the perfect stay-at-home mom. Each wife can be seen doing something typical of a housewife: cleaning, laundry, taking care of sick children, and baking. But if you look closely you can see the messes they are trying to clean up or “sweep under the rug”. The animal print background alludes to a wilder side that each of them is trying to hide or keep under wraps.
